Brigitte grew up, studied and worked for many years in Switzerland before moving to Lesotho, Venezuela, Spain and finally Devon, where she lives now with her husband. Together they have a daughter (19) who has just started studying psychology at Cardiff University. What is Rebirthing
Rebirthing is an alternative or complementary therapy specifically focusing on the breath as a profound healing tool. This technique, combined with improvements in the quality of our thinking, results in rapid personal development. The use of the breath to access heightened states of consciousness for healing and reaching an experience of oneness is found in all cultures and religions and is very ancient. In many languages, the words for ‘breath’ and ‘spirit’, or ‘soul’, are the same. The breathing technique used by A.I.R. was developed in the 1970s and has become a popular method in the West for personal and spiritual development.
Rebirthing is a simple and gentle, yet powerful way to bring into awareness not only our unconsciously held beliefs and emotions, but also the relationship we have with ourselves, our loved ones and our world. When we consciously breathe with this awareness, we make it possible to integrate and heal previously unresolved issues. This frees up energy, bringing greater aliveness and joy, allowing us to move towards fulfillment of our potential as human beings. Rebirthing allows access to subconscious information that is beyond the reach of conventional talking therapies.
The two essential components of Rebirthing are: Breath and Thought.
